Cheddar & Spring onion beef roll

Description: Beef, spring and cheese. Only 3 ingredients. I used cheddar cheese which makes you imagine burgers. But you can use any of your favorite cheese 🙂
Serves: 2
Cooking time: 20 minutes

Ingredients 

  • Beef (rib eye) – 2 pieces, 180g 
  • Spring onion – 80g
  • Cheddar cheese – 2 slices or 40g
  • Ground black pepper – 1 dash
  • Salt – 1 dash

Method

1. Season both sides of the meat. 
2. Place spring onions and cheese, then roll.
3. Put toothpicks to hold. Cut into 4 pieces.
4. In a non-stick pan, add these slices and place the lid. Cook them over medium heat until it is cooked thoroughly.

Nutritional Tips

Carb-free canapé. This dish is carb-free (really low carb content), therefore it makes it easier for those who need to count carbs. In general, cheese is high in fat, so even though we say no carb, the fat content might contribute to higher calories if eaten in large amounts. You may consider using light (reduced-fat) cheese.

Instead of eating burgers, this may be a good alternative at home. You could eat bread if you feel like it alongside this dish, which will be still healthier than eating out in a fast food chain.
