Nutritional Tips

Carb-free canapé. For those who are on insulin treatment including type 1 diabetes, this may be a convenient canapé for your home parties.

Canapé is a tricky food to count the amount of carbohydrate. In particular, these canapé tend to be served at weddings and parties. Even though each piece has just a tiny amount of carbohydrate, after eating several pieces, the total amount of carbohydrate would add-up, which then requires injection. Counting carbohydrates from these tiny dishes, drinks, then appetiser, main meal, dessert … would not be easy at all. Parents with kids who need to do this, this is one of the carb-free snacks suggestions for children. Alternatively, steamed salmon can be used for this recipe as smoked salmon may contain high salt.
